Smooth and radiant skin
Bessie S Dermaplaning
If you are looking for a smoother and brighter complexion, this treatment will do wonders for your skin.
Dermaplaning also called epidermal levelling is a quick, simple, pain free and safe procedure. It is a form of manual exfoliation that will temporarily remove and dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the face giving the skin a smoother, even and more radiant appearance.
WHAT IS DERMAPLANNG?
Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses an exfoliating blade to skim dead skin cells and hair from your face.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Immediately after your dermaplaning treatment, your skin will look wonderfully radiant with a more even skin tone. An extra benefit is that dermaplaning removes ’peach fuzz’, which is the clear/white soft, fine facial hair. Your skin will feel the smoothest it’s ever been!
WHO CAN HAVE DERMAPLANING ?
We recommend this for anyone, as the results really are amazing. We would advise that people with active acne avoid this treatment and wait until breakouts are clear. Please discuss any allergies or skin sensitivities with your beauty therapist.

We will start your treatment with cleansing your skin and then proceed with the blade to start the manual exfoliation. After this, we will finish off your treatment using skincare that is best suited to your skin type.

Your skin may feel sensitive after treatment, which is completely normal. You should avoid sun exposure and make-up for 12 hours afterwards. We advise to use a mild cleanser for 2-3 days after your treatment, to ensure you are not irritating your skin. You may also use a hydrating cream at night, as your skin will be more absorbent to anything you place on your skin. We always highly recommend to wear an SPF Sunscreen after any facial treatment.

No, it will not.
Dermaplaning removes dead skin cells and fine, light-colored vellus hair, but it does not affect the hair follicle itself. The hair follicle determines the hair's thickness and color, so dermaplaning cannot alter these characteristics.
Why the misconception?
Feel of stubble:
When hair grows back after being removed, it may initially feel coarser or thicker because the newly grown hair is pushed through the skin's surface.
Angle of cut:
Dermaplaning cuts the hair at an angle, rather than straight across like shaving, which can also make the regrowth feel different.
Not affecting the follicle:
Dermaplaning only removes the top layer of skin and hair, not the follicle where hair growth originates.
